Tap Inserts Twin Pack - with Special Fitting Tool

Watch our short installation video

You may be surprised to learn that in some homes, taps can flow up to 18 litres a minute.

Together with the world leader in flow and stream control technology, Save Water save Money has developed the Tap Insert Twin Pack, designed to reduce the flow rate on two taps around the home to 3.5 litres a minute, saving up to 12 litres a minute and reducing your gas or electricity bills by reducing the amount of hot water.

And you'll not notice any difference - either to the flow of water or to your tap. Our Tap Insert Twin Pack is unique because you don’t need to replace the external chrome or steel casing (outlet housing) found with conventional tap restrictors – you simply replace the internal plastic parts. We've provided a simple plastic tool to help you get the job done without marking the ends of your taps - and allowing you to complete the job within a couple of minutes.

The Tap Insert uses intelligent flow control (PCA or Pressure Compensatory Accessory) which self compensates for system pressure. The Twin Pack is sufficient for two tap conversions - separate hot & cold taps or mixers - fitting up to 85% of taps with screwed outlets. If you find the insert does not fit your tap you can return the complete kit to us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

Benefits:

  • Reduces waste of water and energy, by up to 60% on most taps.
  • Flow rate of 3.5 litres a minute compared to standard wasteful output of up to 15 litres.
  • Offers savings up to 300% on water usage on taps with uncontrolled stream.
  • Easy to fit - tool provided
  • Converts wash basins in the home or workplace with minimum interruption.
  • Fully aerated stream limiting splash
  • High quality construction.
  • Contains anti limescale materials approved to BS6920 for potable water Aerated stream.
  • Reduces detergent use when washing - thereby helping the environment.
  • Enhanced velocity of stream added to aeration gives improved comfort of use.
  • Use of original housing retains design and aesthetics of original tap.

Each kit contains the following items:

  • 4 adaptor rings ( 2 x black & 2 x grey) to select for your present housing when fitting.
  • 2 x 3.5 litres a minute  aerator  with  Intelligent Flow Control

Fitting Instructions:

  1. Slide the opening of the blue tool around the end of the tap. There are various size fittings so make sure the tool fits snugly.
  2. Twist anticlockwise until the end of the tap comes away from the spout.
  3. Remove the original insert from the housing.
  4. From the components, select one to replace the old insert, as follows (you’ll find only one component will fit):
    • The grey ring is for housings that have an internal shoulder at the outlet of the housing.
    • The black ring is for housings that have no visible shoulder.
    • For small housings (JR size) just insert the aerator.
  5. Install the converter ring into the tap housing and using original gasket replace on to spout hand tight. If using the grey or black converter ring, insert the aerator fully into the ring until the top of the aerator is flush with the top of the ring.

Will it fit my taps?
The tap insert requires the tap end to have two straight edges.  It will fit the majority of taps with a screwed outlet housing. It is not suitable for large bath taps. The inserts should not affect the performance of your taps, merely regulate the flow to 3.5 litres per minute.

Good service but ineffective product. Didn't work as intended or described, reverted back to old inserts.

These tap inserts were very easy and quick to fit using the special fitting tool and left no marks at all on the taps. Once fitted the water comes through a slightly lighter flow but other than that no difference to the user. Great product for saving water.

You can tell the inserts have been fitted as obviously less water comes out and it takes longer to fill a sink - however that's the idea and for most things it obviously saves water, such as running tap to wash hands uses less water. I would still recommend on that basis.

I was disappointed, particularly after the success of ShowerSave. The "Special Fitting Tool" did not seem sturdy enough for the job - the angled interior quickly wore smooth. When I did manage to fit the inserts, whichever way up I fitted them, and whichever collar I used, some water came out of the tap as it should, but some sprayed almost horizontally backwards towards the splashback. In the bathroom the amount is tolerable, and we are still using that insert, but the kitchen one made such a mess I had to remove it.

Exteremley easy to fit and appears to considerably save water

by: Maureen Raud, Teignmouth
Although this adaptor obviously saves water it also cuts down the flow when trying to whoosh water around the sink to clean it. So far my house has been divided over it. I think I shall keep it in place though.

by: David Simcox, Alford
The mixer tap in the kitchen has a separate cold water and hot water feed so this would not fit. The mixer tap in the bathroom is different and the device was easy enough to fit but because the water pressure in the hot water supply is of a fairly low pressure (But OK under normal circumstances) the device reduced the water flow to a trickle, so no use.

Complete waste of time as none of the products fitted any of my taps!

by: graham goodwin, whitwick
really slows down flow of water which is a bit of a problem at times

by: G. Petty, Salisbury
The inserts were easy to fit and do what they say for kitchen taps. Beware, as it may not be suitable if your hot water pressure is too low.

utterly useless. advertising says you will hardly, if at all, notice the difference. made both of the basin faucets i attached them to almost useless. and I had to chase them for a refund and they refused to refund postage. so i'm also out of pocket!
