Simply place on a stand and connect to a downpipe beside your house (both stand and connector kit are included in the price). Then, it does the water collecting for you – up to 150 litres.

Delivery was prompt. However, there were no pre-drilled or flat rim surfaces on which to insert the top input tube, the bottom of the butt could have been easily moulded to securely fit into the base unit and the sealer around the tap was poorly applied so the unit immediately leaked once water filled above the tap.

As our water butt was to go in a really visible spot we needed something that looked good - this was the perfect choice for us as we already had some large planters in the garden in the same style. The only reason I haven't given it a full 5* rating is that it was a little tricky to fit the contector, you have to drill a large hole into the waterbutt at the correct height. After a bit of measuring and working out this was sorted though. Overall I'm very pleased with this, a perfect choice if you want something a little more stylish than your average green butt and a great size for the small to average garden.

Our water butt needs to go on the patio at the back of the house to catch rain from the roof, so we wanted something a little bit more stylish that the normal green dustbins you normally see, the Mediterranean looks of this one made it a perfect choice. It even has a clever bit to stop it overflowing which we hadn't even thought of - but is essential if its on the patio. I was also very impressed with the delivery time - we ordered on Wednesday and it arrived Friday morning
